Cadbury Generositree

With the festive season fast approaching, Cadbury is currently holding a campaign where they are collecting toys and books to distribute to less fortunate children during Christmas. Various children will be gifted with your donations, including the SOS children's village, which is an independent non-governmental organisation that  cares for children that have lost their parents.

The Little Generosity Shop graced Gateway Mall from the 12th of November to the 18th, and will moving to Tygervalley Mall from the 26th of November to 2nd December, as well as Mall of Africa from the 10th of December to the 16th. If you do not have preloved toys or books to donate, Cadbury has partnered up with Toys R Us to make instore or online purchases at selected Toys R Us stores to make a donation of your choice.

The process is extremely simple. You take your preloved toy or book and log a donation on the iPad at the start of the pop-up store. You include your personal details and what you are donating. An assistant will then take you to the gift-wrapping station where you hand in your items and they start wrapping your gift. Whilst they are wrapping, the assistant will seat you at a table where they give you a gift tag and a pen so that you can write a personalized message with your name, to the orphan that receives the gift that you have donated. Afterwards they give you an opportunity to take a picture with an extremely modern and fun Santa, but rather than wearing red, he dons the classic Cadbury purple on his suit. After you take pictures with Santa, you have the opportunity to email it to yourself on an iPad located outside the photo booth. The assistant will then take you to the cabinet where all the chocolates are kept, and you can choose a chocolate of your choice in exchange for your donation.

When the communication company that handles Cadbury SA's press sent me an email with the press release for the campaign, I was instantly interested as the cause was something that is close to my heart. Although most of my childhood toys and books have already been donated, I managed to find two books to donate. So, after gym, Soham and I popped into Gateway on Friday the 15th to donate the books. It was such a wonderful experience and the assistant that helped me gave us so much of info regarding the campaign.

I do urge you to donate any extra toys or books that your child or younger siblings/cousins have outgrown, as the child that will be receiving it, is sometimes used to receiving nothing at Christmas, and your child's preloved item will give them as much joy as it gave your child when they first got it. Well done Cadbury SA on this wonderful and uplifting campaign, it's definitely going to make some children very happy this Christmas.
