10 Beauty Items Every College Girl Needs

As the holiday period draws to a close, we must start to get ready to go back to school/college. The dreaded early mornings, and waking up minutes before your first lecture, are here. Being in my fourth (and final) year of college, I feel like I have finally mastered the art of looking semi-presentable for those 8AM lectures. I have put together a few of my must-have beauty items to make sure you look like you have actually made an effort.

1. A Neutral Eyeshadow Palette

The best palette to have in your bag is a mini one with natural brown shades;
ranging from light to dark with a couple of shimmer shades. Dust the medium brown
shade into your crease just for some definition to make your eyes appear bigger and
wider awake, but still very minimal and natural for the morning. Need to go on a date
or a girl’s night out after lectures? Add the darker brown in your outer v, some
sparkle on your lid and voila!

2. Concealer

Concealer is a must have for late nights and early mornings, as well as for when
you’re stressed out and breaking out. Cover up those unwanted zits with a concealer
containing acne fighting ingredients, like salicylic acid, which will conceal and heal your
acne.

3. Face Wash

It’s very important to take care of your skin, especially when you’re studying. The high
stress levels can have a negative effect on your skin. It can break out, become dry or
become more oily. Get a facewash that suits your skin type and make sure to cleanse
morning and night.

4. Tinted Moisturizer

BB/CC creams are great ways to even out your skin tone. Add a tiny bit of coverage
and keep your skin hydrated throughout the day.

5. A Signature Perfume

A unique scent that will be your own. Find something light and springy for early
morning lectures. But remember, less is more!
Pro tip: dab on a small amount of Vaseline where you generally spray your perfume and then spray over the areas you placed the Vaseline on - it will make your perfume last all
day.

6. Sunscreen

It’s important to constantly protect your skin, whether it’s sunny outside or not. Invest in a good SPF that you can layer with your morning skincare products, or if
you don’t like doing a whole lot of steps of skincare, purchase a moisturizer with a
good amount of SPF protection in it.

7. Blush

A good natural blush can add just the right amount of colour to your face, and,
brighten up your complexion early in the morning (especially after pulling an all-nighter).

8. Tinted Lip Gloss

With the current matte liquid-lip trend, sometimes it’s nice to switch it up and go for
something a little lighter. Add a pop of colour with an opaque lip gloss. It will make
you look like you haven’t even tried too hard! Choosing one with hydrating qualities will
leave your lips feeling baby-bum soft.

9. Mascara

Choose one with lengthening properties and do a single coat in the morning for
natural wispy lashes. Layer it on later that night if you’re going somewhere to add
extra length, and volume, for an edgy look.

10. Make-Up Removing Wipes

With pulling all-nighters, sometimes you forget to remove your make up, which for
your skin is a huge NO NO! Keep a pack of wipes in your bag for when you’re lazy to
use a cleansing balm or face wash for removal. Get one that is gentle and has
hydrating properties.

These are just some of my college necessities, I hope they find a place in your life
too, and make being a student girl that much easier!
